- Page content of your active tab, only when you click “Solve this page.” The Extension does not read pages in the background, does not run on page load, and does not read any tab other than the one you explicitly act on. It reads the assignment text and/or takes a single screenshot of the visible tab at the moment you click Solve.
- Your account info, only if you sign in (email + a Firebase authentication token), to save your work and manage your subscription.
- Basic technical identifiers and anonymous usage analytics — a random install ID and IP address to enforce free-tier limits and prevent abuse, plus anonymous, aggregated counts of in-extension actions (for example, how many times “Solve” was used) to understand and improve the product. These analytics never include your page content and are not tied to your real-world identity.
- Your own Canvas class list & due dates, only if you tap “Connect Canvas.” We read from your already-logged-in Canvas session, see only your own data, never sign in as you, and never submit anything for you.
The Extension uses the minimum Chrome permissions required: activeTab, scripting, sidePanel, storage, alarms, and notifications. It requests no broad “read all your data on all websites” permission at install; the Canvas host permission is requested only if and when you tap Connect Canvas.
