The respiratory system is responsible for the exchange of gases in the body. It includes the following key components:

• Nasal Cavity: Air enters through the nose, where it is filtered, warmed, and moistened.
• Pharynx: A passage that connects the nasal cavity to the larynx and esophagus.
• Larynx: Also known as the voice box, it contains the vocal cords and is involved in sound production.
• Trachea: The windpipe that conducts air to the bronchi.
• Bronchi: Two main branches that lead to each lung, further dividing into smaller bronchioles.
• Lungs: Organs where gas exchange occurs; oxygen is absorbed, and carbon dioxide is expelled.
• Alveoli: Tiny air sacs in the lungs where the actual exchange of gases takes place.

This system works together to ensure that oxygen is delivered to the bloodstream and carbon dioxide is removed.
