Welcome back Hazel — missed you this week. Here are the labeled parts of the dissected rodent: Heart: Located in the center of the opened chest cavity. Lungs: Pinkish tissue visible on either side of the heart. Liver: The large, dark reddish-brown organ occupying the upper abdominal cavity. Stomach: A J-shaped organ, partially visible beneath the liver in the upper abdomen. Uterus with fetuses: The prominent, segmented tube containing multiple dark, oval structures (fetuses) in the lower abdominal cavity. Small intestine: The long, coiled tube removed from the body and placed on the right side of the board.
