This requires a two-way switching circuit. Live (L) from the consumer unit (CU) goes through a circuit breaker (MCB) to the common terminal of the first 2-way switch (S1). Two 'strappers' connect S1 to the second 2-way switch (S2). The common terminal of S2 connects to the lamp. Neutral (N) from the CU goes directly to the lamp. Earth (E) from the CU connects to the metal parts of the switches and the lamp fitting.
