2. Recognize diphthongs and triphthongs in the sounds of words used in the poem.

   • A diphthong is a vowel sound that involves a glide from one vowel quality to another within the same syllable (e.g., the "oy" in "boy," the "ou" in "house"). A triphthong is a vowel sound that involves a glide through three vowel qualities within the same syllable (e.g., the "ire" in "fire," the "our" in "flower").

3. Appreciate and analyze the poem in terms of language, style and meaning.
