Welcome back — been a while! Let's pick up where you left off. This document outlines the requirements for an English Language Portfolio Assessment. Project Title:* Weekly Reading and Summary Portfolio. Duration:* 12 weeks, starting February 2nd, 2026. Purpose:* It forms part of your Continuous Assessment for English Language. Materials Needed:* One portfolio bag and one exercise book. General Instructions: Work on the portfolio every week* during the semester. Extra marks are awarded for additional work during vacation. All work must be original and neatly organized*. Do NOT copy summaries from the internet or books. Each week's work must start on a new page*. Late or incomplete work will result in penalties*. Mid-semester and examination weeks are excluded from the 12-week count. Weekly Task (for 12 weeks): Each week, you must choose ONE text to read from the following: a short story, a newspaper or online news article, a comprehension passage from a textbook, or any other teacher-approved English text. For each week, you must write: A. Passage Details:* Week Number Title of Passage/Article Source (book, newspaper, website, etc.) Date Read & Worked On B. Vocabulary (5 Words):* Select 5 new or difficult words from the passage. For EACH word, write its meaning and use it in a sentence*. C. Short Summary (50-100 Words):* Write a summary of the passage in your own words*. Do NOT copy from the passage. Include only the main ideas*. Use clear, coherent, and simple English.
