Reading quickly to get Main ideas is what

Skimming is a reading technique used to quickly grasp the main ideas of a text without reading every word. It involves looking for keywords, headings, subheadings, and the first and last sentences of paragraphs to understand the overall structure and central themes. This method is useful for determining if a text is relevant to your needs or for getting a general overview before a more detailed reading.
