Once, in a small village, lived a boy named Kojo. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mensah, loved him dearly. However, they believed in showering him with affection and never correcting his misbehavior, even when he was clearly in the wrong. Kojo would often take toys from other children without asking, refuse to do his chores, and speak disrespectfully to elders. His parents would simply sigh and say, "Boys will be boys," or "He's just expressing himself."

As Kojo grew older, his behavior worsened. He started skipping school, associating with troublesome friends, and even stealing small items from the market. The villagers began to avoid him, and his teachers were at their wit's end. Mr. and Mrs. Mensah were heartbroken, wondering where they had gone wrong. They realized that by sparing the rod – by never disciplining Kojo or teaching him consequences – they had, in fact, spoiled the child. Their lack of firm guidance had allowed his bad habits to flourish unchecked, leading him down a difficult path.
