Course Description:
BCJ 114 is a practical and theoretical course providing an advanced understanding of visual communication concepts, principles, theories, and applications in contemporary society. It builds on Visual Communication I by exploring how visual messages are created, interpreted, and applied across different communication platforms. Topics include visual language, color theory, typography, photography, visual storytelling, digital graphics, multimedia communication, advertising, broadcasting, and film. The course also covers ethical and legal issues such as copyright, image manipulation, fair use, and cultural sensitivity. Through lectures, demonstrations, practical studio sessions, and project-based learning, students will gain the skills to analyze, design, and produce effective visual communication materials for print, broadcast, and digital media.
