Here are the impacts of the tropical low-pressure system in Limpopo Province:

• Environmental Impacts: Intense rainfall can lead to severe soil erosion, landslides, and habitat destruction. Flooding can contaminate water sources, affecting both human and animal populations, and alter river courses.
• Social Impacts: The disaster would cause displacement of communities, leading to temporary shelters and potential long-term homelessness. There could be loss of life, injuries, and increased risk of waterborne diseases. The psychological impact on affected individuals and communities can be significant.
• Economic Impacts: Widespread flooding devastates agriculture, destroying crops and livestock, which impacts food security and livelihoods. Businesses are disrupted or destroyed, leading to job losses and economic hardship. The cost of recovery and reconstruction is substantial.
• Infrastructure Impacts: Critical infrastructure such as roads, bridges, schools, and hospitals can be severely damaged or destroyed, hindering access to essential services and emergency relief. Power outages and disruption of communication networks are also common.
