In pre-Islamic Arabia, the social condition of women was dire; they were treated as property, lacked legal rights, and female infanticide was common. Orphans were often exploited and deprived of their inheritance, while slaves had no rights, enduring brutal treatment and considered mere chattel.

Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) introduced several specific rights for women, significantly elevating their status. Three of these rights include:
