- The ability to break down material/information into its component parts; to differentiate, compare, distinguish, outline, separate, identify significant points; it is also the ability to recognise unstated assumptions and logical fallacies; the ability to recognise inferences from facts is critical thinking skill or analytical skill.
- It is the ability to use information or materials to plan, compose, produce, manufacture or construct other products is productive skill or application skill.
- The skill of assessing the likelihood of an outcome based on prior knowledge of how things usually turn out is termed as prediction skill or forecasting skill.
- Self-assessment or reflective assessment develops and supports students' sense of ownership and efficacy about their learning through reflective practices.
- The nature of Social Studies is determined by the accepted definition. Since we see the subject as reflective inquiry, the nature of the subject is inquisitive or critical.
