The story of Cinderella for grade 5

One day, the King announces a grand ball, inviting all the young women in the kingdom so his son, the Prince, can choose a bride. Cinderella longs to go, but her stepmother forbids it and gives her an impossible list of chores.

As Cinderella cries, her Fairy Godmother appears! With a wave of her magic wand, she transforms a pumpkin into a magnificent carriage, mice into horses, a rat into a coachman, and lizards into footmen. Most wonderfully, Cinderella's rags turn into a beautiful gown and sparkling glass slippers. The Fairy Godmother warns her that the magic will only last until midnight.

Cinderella arrives at the ball, looking so lovely that no one recognizes her, not even her stepfamily. The Prince is immediately captivated and dances with her all evening. Cinderella is so happy she almost forgets the time.

As the clock strikes midnight, Cinderella remembers the warning and rushes out, leaving one of her glass slippers behind on the palace stairs. The Prince, determined to find her, announces that he will marry the woman whose foot fits the slipper.

His royal guards go from house to house. When they reach Cinderella's home, her stepsisters try desperately to squeeze their feet into the tiny slipper, but it's no use. Cinderella asks if she can try, and to everyone's astonishment, the slipper fits perfectly!

With another touch of her Fairy Godmother's magic, Cinderella's rags transform back into her beautiful gown. The Prince recognizes her, and they are married, living happily ever after.
