Several strategies can be adopted to enhance the effectiveness of digital transformation within the Department of Home Affairs. These include modernising legacy ICT systems, strengthening cybersecurity and data-protection measures, improving network reliability, expanding online self-service platforms, and increasing digital skills among officials. The Department can also strengthen project governance, improve coordination with technology partners, and ensure that digital services are accessible to citizens with limited internet access or digital literacy. These strategies can help ensure that transformation initiatives are sustainable and responsive to citizen needs. This research question is important because identifying appropriate strategies allows the Department to move beyond simply adopting technology and towards achieving meaningful service-delivery improvement. Digital transformation should not only focus on new systems but also on people, processes, governance, and infrastructure. By recommending practical strategies, the study can support the Department in improving efficiency, reducing service disruptions, and delivering more accessible and citizen-centred services
