The last presidential election in Nigeria was held on February 25, 2023. It was a highly contested election with three main frontrunners: Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

The election saw significant voter turnout and public engagement, particularly among the youth. Following the collation of results, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner. The election was, however, met with some controversy, particularly concerning the electronic transmission of results and allegations of irregularities by opposition parties, leading to legal challenges at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
