ECOBANK STAFF TRAINING INSTITUTE / UNIVERSITY ASSIGNMENT Name: Theresa Yamoah ID Number: 202/8/3/BBA/HRM/900 Course Title: Human Resource Management (HRM) - Training and Development Assignment Topic: How to Evaluate Training Effectiveness Across an Organisation Date: October 2026 TRAINING ASSIGNMENT: EVALUATION OF TRAINING EFFECTIVENESS INTRODUCTION Training is very important in every organisation. After training employees, the organisation must check if the training was useful or not. Evaluating training effectiveness means checking whether the training achieved its goals and improved employee performance. HOW I WILL EVALUATE TRAINING EFFECTIVENESS ACROSS THE ORGANISATION I will use these steps and methods: Kirkpatrick's Four Levels Model (Most Common Method) This is the best and simplest way. a) Level 1: Reaction - I will check what employees felt about the training. Did they like it? I will use questionnaires and feedback forms immediately after training. b) Level 2: Learning - I will check what they learned. I will give them a short test or practical demonstration before and after training to see improvement. c) Level 3: Behaviour - I will check if they are applying what they learned at work. I will observe them at work and ask their supervisors if there is change in their work attitude. d) Level 4: Results - I will check the final effect on the organisation. Has productivity increased? Has customer complaints reduced? Has profit improved? Setting Clear Objectives Before Training Before training, I will set what we want to achieve first. After training, I will compare the results with the objectives to see if we achieved our aim. Feedback from Managers and Colleagues I will ask the managers and colleagues of those trained if they have seen improvement in their work, punctuality, and teamwork. Performance Appraisal I will check the performance appraisal records of employees 3 months after training to see if their performance scores have improved. Return on Investment (ROI) I will check if the money spent on training is yielding profit to the organisation. For instance, if we spent GH¢ 7,000 on training and productivity increased by GH¢ 16,000, then the training was effective. Observation and On-the-Job Assessment I will visit different departments to observe if employees are using the new skills they were taught. CONCLUSION Evaluating training is very important because it helps the organisation to know if training is useful. It also helps to avoid wasting money on training that does not help. If training is not effective, we can change the method, trainer, or materials. Good evaluation ensures continuous improvement in the organisation. REFERENCES Elinam Amah Pamela Adu Cecilia walker
