a) Problems Moses faced as he led the Israelites during the exodus:

• The Israelites' constant complaining and rebellion against God and Moses.
• Lack of food and water in the wilderness, leading to murmuring.
• Threats from hostile nations like the Amalekites.
• The burden of judging disputes among the vast number of people.
• The Israelites' lack of faith and tendency to worship other gods, such as the golden calf.
• His own personal struggles and frustrations, including anger that led to him striking the rock instead of speaking to it.

b) Eight conditions God gave the Israelites during the renewal of the Sinai covenant (Exodus 34:1-35):

• They were not to make any other gods or worship them.
