2.1 Two benefits of limiting the right to freedom of expression in cyberspace for learners are:

2.2 Two negative effects of cyberbullying on victims are:

• Emotional distress and mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and suicidal thoughts.
• Decline in academic performance and social withdrawal, leading to absenteeism from school and isolation from peers.

2.3 Four key rights in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa that could be violated by cyberbullying:

1. Right to dignity (Section 10): Cyberbullying often involves humiliating, degrading, or insulting a person, which directly infringes upon their inherent human dignity.
2. Right to privacy (Section 14): Sharing private information, photos, or videos of a learner without their consent constitutes a violation of their right to privacy.
3. Right to freedom and security of the person (Section 12): Threats, intimidation, and constant harassment online can make a learner feel unsafe and insecure, violating their right to be free from all forms of violence.
4. Right to bodily and psychological integrity (Section 12): The severe psychological harm, stress, and emotional trauma inflicted by cyberbullying can violate a person's right to psychological integrity.

2.4 While South African laws, such as the Cybercrimes Act of 2020, provide a legal framework to address human rights violations resulting from cyberbullying, they are not fully succeeding in eradicating the problem. This is due to challenges in enforcement, the rapid evolution of digital platforms, and often a lack of awareness among victims and perpetrators regarding legal consequences.
