To make a symmetrical design by only designing half of it, you would use reflectional symmetry.
- Design one half of your desired pattern or shape.
- Identify the axis of symmetry, which is the line along which the design will be mirrored.
- Reflect or mirror the designed half across this axis to create the other identical half. This completes the full, symmetrical design.
For example, to design a symmetrical butterfly, you would draw one wing and half of the body, then reflect it across a central vertical line to create the other wing and complete the body.
