i) Sandy soils may not be the best soil for cultivation
Sandy soils have large, coarse particles with large spaces between them. This causes water to drain very quickly, leading to poor water retention and rapid leaching of essential mineral nutrients, making them less fertile for most crops.

ii) Mineral nutrients that occur deep in the soil can reach plantation.
Mineral nutrients deep in the soil can be accessed by plants that have deep and extensive root systems. These roots grow downwards, penetrating deeper soil layers to absorb water and nutrients that are not available closer to the surface.

iii) What would be the effect of too much water in the soil?
Too much water in the soil leads to waterlogging, which displaces air from the soil pores. This creates anaerobic conditions, depriving plant roots and beneficial soil microorganisms of oxygen, which can cause root rot and hinder nutrient absorption.
