Why European decide to colonise Africa

Europeans decided to colonize Africa for a combination of economic, political, and social reasons. Economically, they sought access to abundant raw materials (like rubber, diamonds, gold, and copper) for their industries, new markets for their manufactured goods, and opportunities for investment. Politically, colonization boosted national prestige and power, provided strategic military advantages, and fueled competition among European nations. Socially, some believed in a "civilizing mission" to spread Christianity and European culture, often underpinned by beliefs in racial superiority.
