• How the activity addresses the requirements:

  • a) Encourage mathematical language: Children will use terms like "count," "how many," "more," "less," "big," "small," "half," "whole," "share," and "equal." For example, "How many apple slices do we have?" or "We have more grapes than bananas."

  • b) Help children develop mathematical concept process skills: This activity fosters counting (one-to-one correspondence), sorting (by type, color, or size), comparing quantities, basic measurement (cutting into pieces, sharing), and problem-solving (e.g., how to share fruit equally).
