What is Delphi technics

Delphi techniques are a structured communication method, originally developed as a systematic, interactive forecasting method which relies on a panel of experts. The experts answer questionnaires in two or more rounds. After each round, a facilitator provides an anonymized summary of the experts' forecasts and their reasoning. Experts are then encouraged to revise their earlier answers in light of the "gains from the group as a whole." It is believed that during this process the likelihood of the group converging to the "correct" answer increases. It is also believed that the diversity of the group is preserved, and the risk of groupthink or the influence of dominant personalities is avoided.
