Which side of the graph should it be plot

• Points with a positive $x$-coordinate are plotted to the right of the y-axis.
• Points with a negative $x$-coordinate are plotted to the left of the y-axis.
• Points with a positive $y$-coordinate are plotted above the x-axis.
• Points with a negative $y$-coordinate are plotted below the x-axis.

In the examples I provided:

• For the first translation (4 left, 2 down), the point $(1, 4)$ is plotted to the right of the y-axis and above the x-axis.
• For the second translation (3 right, 5 up), the point $(8, 11)$ is plotted to the right of the y-axis and above the x-axis.
