Here are two advantages of measuring with a potentiometer over a voltmeter:

1. Measures true EMF: A potentiometer measures the electromotive force (EMF) of a cell or source without drawing any current from it at the balance point. This means there is no voltage drop across the internal resistance of the source, leading to a more accurate measurement of the actual EMF.
2. Higher accuracy: A voltmeter, having a finite internal resistance, always draws some current from the circuit. This causes a voltage drop within the source itself, so the voltmeter measures the terminal potential difference, which is always slightly less than the true EMF. Potentiometers avoid this error.
