There are two main types of clutch master cylinders:

Integral Clutch Master Cylinder: In this design, the master cylinder is directly attached to the clutch pedal lever. When the pedal is pressed, it directly actuates the master cylinder piston. This setup is common in many vehicles for its simplicity and direct feel.

Remote Clutch Master Cylinder: Here, the master cylinder is mounted remotely from the clutch pedal, often on the firewall or frame. A pushrod connects the clutch pedal to the master cylinder piston. This arrangement allows for more flexibility in packaging and can sometimes offer a different pedal feel.
Both types work on the same hydraulic principle: pressing the clutch pedal forces fluid from the master cylinder reservoir through the slave cylinder, which then disengages the clutch.
